There are certain foods that are highly acidic for the body to digest that indigestion occurs every now and then and most people are unaware that indigestion is actually brought about by some food types that they eat every day. 1.) Artificial Sweeteners
Probably one food type that contributes greatly to digestive problems as well as other health related problems are artificial sweeteners specifically called as sorbitol. This is a type of sugar that is hard for the stomach is to digest and is mostly found in apples, peaches, prunes, some diet foods and sweet gum. If the sorbitol reaches one’s stomach it creates gas, diarrhea and a bloated feeling. If a person is constantly experiencing diarrhea then read the food labels before purchasing to see if it has sorbitol in them.
The very last thing that a person does when he or she feels nauseated every now and then is to drink a tonic or any kind of alcoholic beverage. Studying alcohol’s content, it has no vitamins, proteins or any helpful nutrient that is good for the body and according to Krevsky, drinking alcohol can damage the liver and stomach. It is very harmful to the stomach’s lining, thus leading to indigestion and other more serious health problem. The key to drinking alcohol without damaging the body or putting it at risk, is to drink in moderation.
3.) Salty or Sweet Foods
Normally the body is indifferent with types of foods that are too sweet or too salty because it does not digest them well or worse case not at all. Like for instance, a person who is sick will want to have foods that will be easy to eat, swallow and digest and not those that are spicy which have the opposite effect. Another food that is bad for digestion is the old time favorite of almost everyone – Chocolates.
